Building Positive Resilience in Educators

Course Overview

Like every other employment, teaching has its fair share of joys and pains. Although the number of educators leaving the industry remains acceptable, if you were to be honest, we can do better at encouraging and equipping teachers to journey through the pits and troughs specific to their teaching career with bright smiling faces, rather than gritting their teeth gruelingly enduring all.

This workshop helps build positive resilience in teachers, and to remain committed to their calling. It challenges the participants’ self-defeating thinking patterns and transforms the participants’ mindset and ability. It also teaches participants effective skills to handle workplace problems and work stress.

This course is based on prominent research-based studies in key areas like cognitive behavioural therapy, transactional analysis, existential therapy - logotherapy and organizational psychology. Using them as the theoretical foundation, participants are taught important keys and techniques to deal with their daily work matters in a way that enhances their effectiveness and long-term resilience.

It covers:
- escape the trap of old negative thinking
- turn stress into positive energy
- try new ideas with enthusiasm
- persevere despite hardships yet with realistic optimism and expectation of positive results
- understand yourself and your students in a new light
- gain positive perspective in times of difficulties
- deal constructively with problems, conflicts and opportunity
- look beyond self for encouragement and motivation
- develop your own unique personhood and make an impact in your career
