Professional Conversion Programme

What is it?

This is a programme under the national Adapt and Grow initiative to help & subsidise companies hire mid-career Professionals, Managers, Executives and Technicians (PMETs) with cross-industry skills-set wishing to embark on a new job. It aims to raise employment opportunities for currently displaced PMETs and to train and place them in 'sunrise' job positions.

e2i and Orego are working together to place and train mid-career PMETS as e-learning Instructional Designers and Content Developers. Our collaboration derives from our synergistic visions: e2i aims to raise employment and employability among Singapore citizens and PRs. Orego is in the business of skills equipping and training interested candidates in their new roles.

Why PCP for e-Learning Instructional Designers & Content Developers?

Government authorities has regulated that institutions offering WSQ full qualification courses will need  to incorporate blended learning components to their current approved courses by 1 Jan 2018. Non-compliance will lead to the expiry of their WSQ qualification validity. To comply to this regulatory requirement, these institutions will need to either hire e-learning professionals for these course transformation in-house, or to contract such developments to vendor companies specialising in transforming classroom contents into e-courseware.

Private education institutions, although not subjected to this government regulation, will be driven by competition to explore e-learning delivery modes in order to differentiate themselves and to attract frequent travellers and busy executives.

This generates increased business for vendor companies offering such professional e-learning services. They will need to hire e-learning Instructional Designers and Content Developers to meet the business demand, and to be ahead of competitors.
