Course Overview
Currently, among students with special needs, those with learning disabilities make up the biggest group. The prevalence of specific learning disabilities (SLD) among school-age children is 5-15%,and students with dyslexia represent 80% of all those with learning disabilities. These students have significant difficulties in the acquisition and use of reading, writing, listening, speaking, reasoning, or mathematical abilities and often perform below their ability and potential.
As students with learning disabilities spend most of their day in a classroom setting, teachers play an important role in improving academic outcomes for students with learning disabilities.
This workshop is highly recommended for educators working in both mainstream and SPED schools.
